As a lifelong baseball fan, there is no greater experience than a visit to the Baseball Hall of Fame (HoF). This trip to the Hall of Fame was actually my second visit, having last visited in September 2002. Not much has change to the Hall or the village of Cooperstown, but not much change was expected. There were some new exhibits in place, but the great memories of my first trip were easy to rekindle.
The Hall of Fame is a place I could easily spend hours (actually days) visiting if my family were to allow me too. The exhibits are wonderful, and the stories you can learn from taking the time to read the information presented is fascinating. Beside the Hall of Fame Plaque Gallery, I’ve always enjoyed the section dedicated to baseball in the movies. As a baseball and movie lover, it doesn’t get much better than that!
One thing I have not done yet but is on my bucket list to do, is to spend some time at the Giamatti Research Center. Besides being able to pour through the books and publications, I want to be able to go through the endless amount of photographs that are available. Specifically, I want to go through the photos of baseball stadiums of the past. I love that type of history and there is no better place to be to look back and do some research then the Hall of Fame.
I will get back there again, but hopefully it will not be 15 years between this visit and my next one!
